East Bay SPCA Hosts Annual Adopt-a-thon in Oakland

Head on over to Jack London Square in Oakland on July 28 from 10 am to 2 pm for the East Bay SPCA’s Adopt-a-thon 2019! The shelter hosts almost 30 local animal shelters and rescues. The goal: to raise awareness about the homeless animals in the community. While you’re there, you can find vouchers for discounted microchips, giveaways from the Oakland A’s and a button-making station. You can also take home a cat, bird, dog, rat and more to grow your family!

Pet Supplies Plus Recalls Pig Ears Dog Treats

Bulk pig ear dog treats were stocked in open bins. Prepackaged branded pig ears are not included in this recall. The company has removed bulk pig ear product from the shelves at all its stores and has stopped shipping bulk pig ears from its Distribution Center. Consumers who have purchased bulk pig ears should discontinue use of the product and discard it. Consumers who have further questions are welcome to contact Pet Supplies Plus Neighbor Service team at (734) 793-6564 between Monday and Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET.

I am not sure if your dog loves the beauty of a good fireworks display, but I know he does NOT appreciate the noise. Your dog's sense of hearing is one of his best strengths, but when it comes to those glorious loud kabooms on the fourth of July, his hearing is his greatest foe. To him, those explosions sound like a 747 landed in the front yard, and may send him hiding under the bed, urinating on the floor or chewing up the doorframe to escape.
