California Travel Updates

Travel restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic have loosened, and many tourism assets in California are opening. Here is the latest updates from Visit California. Safety measures — physical distancing and enhanced sanitation practices — remain a priority for responsible travel that respects California communities and fellow travelers. Most hotels, campgrounds, RV parks, restaurants, wineries, museums, family entertainment centers, retail operations, beaches and national parks, including Yosemite National Park, are open or in the process of reopening, with restrictions. Theme parks remain closed, and large spectator events and conventions are forbidden. Restrictions also remain in the San Francisco Bay Area. Visitors should call ahead to their intended destination to learn about local restrictions. To find local guidance, here is a collection of California’s local and regional tourism offices.

Maya Visits Nick’s Cove 2020

In Maya’s first trip since early March to the coast, she and her uprights stayed at Nick’s Cove in Marshall, Marin County, on beautiful Tomales Bay. The Nick’s team has been trained in visitor protection while maintaining the guest experience they have always offered humans and pets. Everything was touchless from check-in to ordering to check-out. Staff, guests and visitors all wore face coverings during our recent stay.   While the Nick’s Cove Restaurant is closed inside, the outside dining area along the pier is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, having a cocktail as the sun goes down or watching the kids and dogs frolic in the bay.
