This free indoor event features a mega-adoption event, agility course, dog obedience demos, DockDogs®, training tips, costume contest and more. Also at this year’s Pet Expo will be Shorty Ross, star of Animinal Planet’s ‘Pit Boss’ along with his sidekick, Hercules.

Among the solutions Governor Brown's proposing to the state's budget crisis--removing the funding behind the Hayden Act, which, since 1998, has required city and county shelters, among other things, to hold impounded stray dogs for four business days before euthanizing them or putting them up for adoption. Without that protection, the shelter could dispose of the dog as it thought best within 72 hours of impound, regardless of whether it had been open for business at any time during those hours. Nightmare scenario--you're traveling. Your dog loses his collar and gets lost. His microchip information has your home contact information. You have no idea where the local shelter is. It's a holiday weekend and nothing's open.

DogTrekker is getting the Woof Wagon™ all packed up for this Saturday's Bay Area Pet Expo at the Santa Clara Fairgrounds. This free indoor expo features a mega-adoption event, agility course, dog obedience demos, DockDogs®, training tips, costume contest and more. Also at this year’s Pet Expo will be Shorty Ross, star of Animinal Planet’s ‘Pit Boss’ along with his sidekick, Hercules. Shorty will welcome everyone at 10:30AM, and then be on stage for about 30 minutes at 2:15PM.

February 5, 2012. The 2012 Bay Area Pet Expo this last Saturday was a huge success. The DogTrekker Woof Wagon™, staff and of course our Research Lab, Kayla, were on hand to greet some 18,000 attendees and their furry friends at the Santa Clara Fairgrounds. Director of Show Production, Courtney Rydstrom, said after the show "for the second year in a row, the producers of the Bay Area Pet Expo were amazed and overwhelmed with the enthusiasm and good will of Bay Area pet owners. We look forward to signifigantly grow  the event in future years as we did in 2012."
