DogTrekker Study Featured in USA Today

USA Today recently cited a new DogTrekker survey that uncovered many of the frustrations we as DogTrekkers have experienced all too often. Eight out of 10 of those leisure travelers surveyed found hotel policies and amenities important when selecting accomodations, almost half are not pleased with the poor selection of truly pet-friendly hotels and a third are confused over pet policies. These results send a huge message to the travel industry, as our influence as dog-travelers continues to increase.

Napa Humane’s Inaugural Pawsport Napa Valley

Napa Humane has announced that their inaugural “Pawsport Napa Valley” will be held March 23 – 26, 2012. This four-day event will provide animal lovers with a wide variety of exclusive tastings, events, and specials offerings at 18 wineries in the Napa Valley. Proceeds from “Pawsport Napa Valley” will support Napa Humane and its programs and services to fulfill their ongoing mission to promote the welfare of companion animals through protection, advocacy, education and by example. Most of the wineries are dog-friendly!

Dogs at Work

In today's world, dogs are more than just best friends — frequently, they're also superb coworkers. The U.S. Postal Service® celebrates the enduring partnership between dogs and people with the Dogs at Work issuance. This set of four 65 cent stamps depicts four hard-working canines: a guide dog assisting a woman who is blind, a tracking dog on the trail of a scent, a therapy dog visiting an elderly woman in her home, and a search and rescue dog standing in a field, ready to tackle the next assignment.
