Hot Dog Alert!

Due to the excessive heat wave throughout the County, the Calaveras Humane Society has decided not to participate in the Independence Day Parade in Arnold as exposure to the heat and hot asphalt could be harmful to the animals taking part in the parade. DogTrekker.com encourages everyone to be very mindful of not exposing their pets and other animals to the heat generated in cars, the back of pickup trucks or walking their dogs on the hot pavement. Remember, 80 degrees outside can become 120 degrees inside a locked car and our temperatures are much higher than that right now.

New Home for Wags and Whiskers!

Wags and Whiskers Rescue is pleased to announce that Stanislaus County has allowed our organization the opportunity to have a physical location to help serve our community and our community's furry friends!  We would like to thank the County and City of Modesto staff for working hand in hand with Wags and Whiskers Rescue to save animal lives.    Wags and Whiskers Rescue will take possession of the facility at a key passing  ceremony held on August 1st, 2013 at 6 p.m. at the facility located at 2846 Finch Rd Modesto, CA 95354. All members of the community are welcome!
