Muttville Senior Dog Rescue 2017

Last year marked some milestones (like 912 senior dogs saved in 2016!) and accolades for Muttville, as founder Sherri Franklin was named a Top 10 CNN Hero in the CNN Heroes program. Since its founding, Muttville has drastically changed the way senior dogs are treated in the shelter system—once seen as "unadoptable," they're now valued, and the ripple effects extend out into the community. For example, SF seniors and others who can't have a dog but crave that canine companionship can take advantage of Muttville's Cuddle Club, which brings dogs and dog-deprived together in the Community Cuddle Room for a bit of mutually beneficial TLC. It's a hit!

Currently at Muttville seeking a home is Chato here. This scruffy little senior dude with the endearing underbite is definitely up for fun walks, loves hanging out with other dogs, and thinks snuggling with his person is just the best. He even gets along with resident cats! If you work at home, or in a dog-friendly office, Chato is your guy. In fact, whatever you're up to, he'd like to be part of it. Chato's a terrier mix, believed to be 8-10 years old.

You can check out videos of his endearing antics on his adoption page—or you can meet him in person this weekend, February 25-26, at Love a Senior Saturday and Sunday, where he and many other Muttville hopefuls will be waiting to greet their new families.
