ARF 2017

Meet Brad Pitt. Like his namesake, this 2-year-old pit bull mix is strong, handsome, and fond of outdoor adventures. He's also very happy to sit there soaking up the TLC from his people when it's time to relax.

Brad had a run of bad luck before landing at Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation in Walnut Creek. After landing in a city shelter, he was receiving heartworm treatment when the shelter caught fire, adding smoke inhalation to the poor guy's medical woes. But his stay at ARF has helped him put all that behind him, and he's now breathing easy, heartworm free, and ready to enjoy a bright future with his own family.

Brad gets along well with adults and kids as well as dogs. And, thanks to a kind sponsor, his adoption fee is covered, so come meet him and see if this heartthrob is the one for you.

Coming up May 20 in downtown Walnut Creek is ARF's annual Animals on Broadway celebration, a day of fun for people and dogs alike. The 1-mile Walk to Save Lives begins at 9:30 a.m. — sign up now and start collecting pledges! It's also ARF's big community fundraiser, allowing them to provide lifesaving and life-enhancing services to animals in need. After you and Frisky have enjoyed the stroll, there's plenty of time to check out the vendors, rescue groups, Kid Zone and more. Also visit the Pet Wellness Fair, offering on-site health resources and veterinary services. For 17 years now, Animals on Broadway has been great fun for the whole family — and a real lifesaver for dogs like Brad!
