Join DogTrekker in San Jose this Saturday, September 17th, for the 15th Annual Bark in the Park. Located in an expansive, tree lined neighborhood park, this fun day features contests, music, celebrities, demonstrations, kids activities and dog-related vendors — PLUS lots of fun-loving dogs. Bark in the Park is a fundraising event hosted by the Naglee Park neighborhood's Campus Community Association (CCA), with all proceeds benefiting the CCA, Humane Society Silicon Valley and San Jose Animal Care Center.
Bark in the Park is the largest dog festival in the U.S. with over 3,500 dogs and 15,000 uprights attending. The event takes place at William Street Park, corner of William & South 16th Streets in downtown San Jose. Admission is free, with a $5 donation per dog encouraged.
About the Campus Community Association:
Naglee Park is a historic San Jose neighborhood developed on the estate of Brig. General Henry Morris Naglee, a Civil War veteran and prominent California pioneer. The Campus Community Association grew out of Naglee Park to become a strong advocate for neighborhood values in San Jose. As a result, the Naglee Park neighborhood is at the forefront on issues affecting the downtown neighborhoods and San Jose as a whole.
About Humane Society Silicon Valley:
Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) is an independent, non-profit agency offering quality adoptions, medical care and education programs to enhance the human-animal bond. Established in 1929, HSSV has served Silicon Valley for more than 79 years and found homes for more than 500,000 animals. HSSV is an "open door" shelter and accepts animals 24-hours a day, seven days a week. HSSV's medical center offers affordable spaying/neutering, vaccinations and microchips to the public.
