Stolen Puppy Returned

November 9, 2011 – James, the puppy that was stolen from the SF SPCA Adoptions Center on Tuesday afternoon, was returned today.  According to SF SPCA spokeswoman Krista Maloney, James was returned happy and healthy and will be reunited with his new family later this afternoon.

James, a brown and white mixed breed 8-week old puppy, was taken from the Adoptions Center hours before he was scheduled to go home with his new adoptive family. He was returned to the center around 2pm today by a woman who said she bought him for $200 outside the Safeway on Mission. She brought the puppy to her mom's house, and the mom realized that puppy had been stolen because she had seen James' photo on the news. The women, who wants to remain anonymous, returned James to SF SPCA around 2pm.

The police have video and still photos of the suspects who are still at large. Anyone with information should contact Sgt. Pete Shields at the Mission Police Station at 415-558-5400.
