Cruising dogs are will be treated to a bow-wow buffet, canine water stations and even a sod covered poop deck for those important bathroom breaks, and of course sweeping views of San Francisco from the bay. DogTrekker cruised around the bay at last year’s Dog Day on the Bay and we definitely give the cruise four paws. From pups dressed to impress, to dogs getting their sea legs, Dog Day on the Bay is not to be missed.
Register online (adults $125, $112 for seniors, $75 per child, children under 4 are free) with one leashed pet per person. Dogs sail for free!
Funds raised by Dog Day on the Bay will benefit the San Francisco SPCA’s Puppy Dog Tales Reading Program. Puppy Dog Tales Reading Program (PDT) helps to promote literacy in at-risk populations of children. PDT works closely with school and library staff to help promote a love of reading in children through having them read to therapy dogs. Reading out loud to an adult can be a scary prospect, but reading out loud to a dog helps children uncover a self confidence they might not have had before.
Can’t make it on the bay June 2, you can still support Puppy Dog Tales Reading Program and the SF SPCA by donating.
