New Home for Wags and Whiskers!

Wags & Whiskers logoWags and Whiskers Rescue is pleased to announce that Stanislaus County has allowed our organization the opportunity to have a physical location to help serve our community and our community's furry friends!  We would like to thank the County and City of Modesto staff for working hand in hand with Wags and Whiskers Rescue to save animal lives.

Wags and Whiskers Rescue will take possession of the facility at a key passing ceremony held on August 1st, 2013 at 6 p.m. at the facility located at 2846 Finch Rd Modesto, CA 95354. All members of the community are welcome!

After receiving the executive committee recommendation, the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a lease agreement with Wags and Whiskers Rescue on June 18th, 2013 for the Finch Road Facility. The Assistant Management Consultant, Joshua Ewen, stated "The perseverance, professionalism and passion of your organization, and its members, to provide animal adoption and rescue services have been greatly received by our staff."

Wags and Whiskers Rescue will continue to be a foster based rescue, now with the opportunity to transition adoptable pets to the facility with increased visibility. In addition, rescue boarding to assist animals in the transition from shelter to rescue as needed will be offered. Low cost training classes open to the community will be offered on-site as well. We are excited to put the facility to good use, as it will increase our rescue efforts, assist the county with decreasing the euthanasia rate, and allow us the opportunity to assist people in building relationships with their pets in an effort to increase owner retention.

Our organization is dedicated to assisting homeless and abandoned animals find safe and loving forever homes. We will remain focused on pulling animals from local shelters that are out of time, too young or too old; truly saving lives. Our pets are fostered in family environments, allowing them the opportunity to learn the skills required to make their "forever" home transition successful. All pets placed for adoption are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, micro-chipped, temperament tested and matched to pre-screened adopters.

Wags and Whiskers Rescue is committed to increasing public awareness of the pet overpopulation problem, humane treatment of animals and the value of positive training and responsible pet ownership. We rely solely on our volunteers and donors to continue our work and are currently seeking donations and volunteers for our venture!  Any donation, facility improvement or direct animal care related, is appreciated. Remember, Wags and Whiskers Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so all of your donations are tax deductible.
