Bay Area Pet Fair – Day 1 – A Great Success!

Bay Area Pet Fair and Adoptathon
DogTrekker.com was on hand today for the first day of the annual Bay Area Pet Fair and Adoptathon in Marin County. The driving force behind the two-day event, Pet Food Express, literally rolled out the red carpet and tents for thousands of attendees to meet, and in many cases, take home hundreds of adoptable cuties.

With the sun shining and the temperature perfect, DogTrekker.com was excited to welcome readers at our outdoor booth across from the Pet Food Express booths. Right behind us, Rocket Dog Rescue was busy adopting out 22 dogs that were on the euthanasia list at Glenn and Tehama County shelters and rescued earlier this week.

Pet FairDogTrekker.com's Lark and Roger Coryell stepped up to the plate and rescued a beautiful part lab, part 'Heinz 57' pup from Rocket Dog Rescue and are now introducing her to Rowdy, an Australian Shepherd mix, who has been top-dog at the Coryell household.

In addition to adoptions, dogs with their uprights in tow tried their jumping skills at the Splash Dog tank and strutted their stuff in the My Mutt Contest. As if that wasn’t enough, there were also over 100 vendor booths to peruse and music provided by our friends at KFOG.

All in all the day was a tremendous success and we look forward to another great day tomorrow. Come visit us, 10 a.m. until 5 p.m, Marin County Fairgrounds.
