- Large farm animals are being accepted at Cow Palace, Daly City. For information and assistance contact (650) 450-0520.
- Needed:
- Animal crates of all sizes, cat litter boxes, dog beds, collars, and leashes are needed. These items can be dropped off at the Santa Cruz County Animal Services Agency, 1001 Rodriguez Street in Santa Cruz. No food, volunteers, or foster families at this time.
- Donations of cat food, hard plastic travel crates, large wire crates and litter boxes/scoops to the Santa Cruz SPCA are appreciated! A pet food pantry is available to help those displaced by the fires. Donated items can be dropped off at the SPCA, 2685 Chanticleer Ave from 11AM to 6PM.
Butte/Tehama (Butte, Tehama & Glenn counties):
- Tehama County Animal Shelter (1830 Walnut St, Red Bluff) is able to take in animals, but encourage people to first try friends and family as space and resources are limited.
- An Animal Shelter is open at the Glenn County Fairgrounds, 221 E Yolo St., Orland, 95963. This shelter is staffed by Glen County Sheriff's Animal Control staff: (530) 934-6441.
River & Carmel Fires (Monterey County):

- SPCA Monterey County was the very first animal welfare agency in the United States to partner with the American Red Cross and shelter pets adjacent to human evacuation shelters during disasters. Contact them at (831) 373-2631 (day) and (831) 264-5455 (night) if you have questions or need assistance with emergency pet or livestock evacuations.
- To Pick Up Your Evacuated Pet:
- Dogs and Cats: Please call (831) 373-2631 to learn the time and location to take your pets back
- Horses & Barn Pets: Please come to the location where you dropped your pets off. If we evacuated your pets for you, please call us.
- Monterey Fairgrounds: 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (please contact us if you need to make special arrangements)
- Marina Equestrian Center: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (please contact us if you need to make special arrangements)
