Camp Fire
Woolsey & Hill Fires
Our hearts and prayers go out to every one of our Northern and Southern California neighbors, two-legged and four, impacted by the deadly fires that have raged in Butte, Los Angeles, Ventura and other California counties.
We are also devastated by the loss of life and property. At the same time, we are thankful for the support of the many emergency responders, support personnel, and volunteers who are saving lives, property, and pets.
Here are links to the latest information on the fires and some ways you can make a difference.

How You Can Help/Pets:
Here are some of the organizations that are stepping up to assist our Northern and Southern California neighbors with support and services. This list will continue to change, please check back to see what additional assistance you can provide:
- The Humane Society of Ventura County is once again in need of donations. The organization has set up a registry wishlist on Amazon with items needed to care for the diverse group of animals currently in its care. Those unable to bring supplies or food to the shelter can make cash donations on HCVC’s website. Sandra Bullock and family just sent the Humane Society of Ventura a $100,000 donation to help HSVC provide 24/7 care for the scores of animals and pets being evacuated from these fires.
- Over 800 rescued animals displaced by the Woolsey and Hill fires in Ventura County are being sheltered at Los Angeles County Animal Care & Control, according to Allison Cardona, Deputy Director of South County operations. Los Angeles County Animal Care Foundation has four Animal Safe trailers that provide temporary sheltering for pets whose owners are evacuated. These trailers are self-sustaining, with heat, air conditioning, power, water, and lighting to provide excellent care to the displaced animals. The Department stations and staffs these trailers next to Red Cross emergency sheltering sites, so pet owners are never far away from their beloved pets. Your support will help provide the food, shelter and medical care for feline, canine, equine and all other pet residents who require shelter and care as a result of this disaster. Your support will also help reunite these pets with the families that are searching for them. Donate and specify the Noah’s Legacy Fund in your contribution.
- Kennels/crates, bowls, and puppy pads are needed at sheltering sites — if you have any to contribute please take them to Castaic Animal Care Center located at 31044 N Charlie Canyon Road, Castaic, CA 91384.
- Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA has taken in over 30 animals brought from shelters affected by the wildfires — and are preparing to take in more throughout the week. The staff and field officers are helping to provide around the clock assistance for evacuated animals at Taft HS and Pierce College. Your donation will help to provide life saving life saving services and support like medical care, food, blankets and so much more!
- The Butte Humane Society at 2580 Fair St. in Chico is accepting pet supplies, such as wet and dry dog and cat food, litter boxes, kennels and carriers, leashes and toys. For those who don’t live nearby, the Humane Society also set up an Amazon wish list to donate pet supplies online.
- Santa Cruz SPCA staff and volunteers are standing at the ready with vans and crates — fully prepared to assist the Butte County and Southern California shelters by taking adoptable animals in order to create room for strays and fire evacuees.
- Monetary donations made directly to any of the agencies below is a great way to help animals and their humans at this time!
