DogTrekker was on the field and in the bleachers last Sunday at AT&T Park for the 13th annual Dog Days of Summer to benefit the San Francisco SPCA. Over 600 dogs, many dressed in their best San Francisco Giants orange and black attire, competed in the best-dressed contest and then strutted their stuff around the field to the cheers of appreciative fans.
Will ‘the thrill’ Clark was standing along side the Giants dugout, greeting the dogs, shaking human hands and commenting on the costumes. Best quote of the day from Will when a 150 pound St. Bernard walked by, “hang out in the bullpen, we might need you for a save in the 7th.” The winner of the costume contest was ‘Boss’ – head of security – a bulldog dressed in a black security tank, Giants hat, badge and orange water pistol.
The San Francisco SPCA, a DogTrekker.com partner, was founded in 1868 as a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for dogs and cats. They receive no federal, state of local funding or from national organizations, relying solely on donations from individuals and generous partnerships and fund-raising opportunities from businesses such as the San Francisco Giants.
