Get your walking shoes laced up and your leash untangled because its time for the Peninsula Humane Society’s annual Mutt Strutt fundraiser. Held at Coyote Point Park in San Mateo the fundraiser raises money for the PHS’s Hope Program. DogTrekker was on hand last year and this year we are looking forward to another pawsitively fun filled day!
“We’re in our 18th year, and the Mutt Strutt continues to be the one and only day of the year where members of the public can enjoy the pristine trails of Coyote Point Park with their dog,” says PHS/SPCA President Ken White. “The Mutt Strutt has gone from a fun, little walk to the must-do dog event in our county. Some people have attended all 17 years and proudly come back wearing their event T-shirt from year one or two.”
The Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA’s Hope Program helps the neediest animals and gives them a second chance at life. As an open-door shelter, PHS/SPCA accepts all animals regardless of their age, size, temperament and behavior. Some animals arrive perfectly healthy and need nothing more than a new loving home, but many others need extra medical care, behavior training, or TLC before they can be placed into a new forever home. For some of them, PHS/SPCA is their only chance. Hope saves an average of 170-175 animals every month. Thanks to generous support, this number keeps growing!
Mutt Strutt starts at 9 am and the festivities continue until 1 pm. Get out and spend the day with your furry friend and help the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA at the same time!
