Berkeley Humane 2017

Meet Pearl! After an active youth, this cute min-pin (miniature pinscher) mix is now ready for cuddly golden years, with plenty of easy walks, soft beds—and hey, lap time would be perfect! Pearl is a loving, well-behaved girl who's ready to share a sweet life with her own person.

Pearl is currently living in a foster home, but if you think you're the one for her, meet and greets are just a phone call away. Thanks to a generous donation, Pearl’s adoption fee has been sponsored, so don't let that stand in your way—to find out more about Pearl: Click Here.

Pearl is just one of the many dogs (and cats) helped in their hour of need by the good folks at Berkeley Humane. In the last year, they’ve rescued dogs and cats from 12 shelters across six counties, resulting in more than 1,000 adoptions. For over a century, they've been providing adoption services, veterinary care, spay and neuter clinics, training classes, and more, all to help the East Bay's humans and pets live happily together.

Coming up on August 19, Berkeley Humane is hosting its 5th annual adopt-a-thon and family-friendly street fair, Bark (& Meow) Around the Block, outside its headquarters at 9th and Carleton in Berkeley. The event stretches over two long city blocks and features reduced-cost/free adoptions, great food, and entertainment for the whole family.

If you're looking to adopt, you don't want to miss this, as 20+ rescues will be on hand along with many sweet and hopeful seekers of new homes. But it's also one of Berkeley’s don't-miss summer street fairs, with food trucks, vendors, exciting raffle prizes, games and activities for kids and dogs. Daisy and Dexter are welcome to join you too, provided they are on leash and well behaved. Join the fun!
