German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County

It's hard to believe now that Gia was once in mortal danger, but there she was, stuck in a high-kill shelter with no prospects. Luckily for her, the good folks at German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County swooped her to safety.

Since she's started to settle in, this seriously gorgeous 5-year-old has proved a classic German shepherd in many ways: very bright, very aware of her surroundings, very fond of having things orderly and predictable. She doesn't love small dogs but gets along with large ones.

What she does really love: squeaky toys.

Volunteer-driven GSROC provides a life-saving resource to German shepherds like Gia who find themselves unclaimed and imperiled in shelters; they also take in dogs whose current humans are unable to care for them. Sometimes it's a matter of life changes breaking up a beautiful relationship and putting the dog in need of a new loving home. And, as with other large, smart, high-energy dogs, people fall for the fuzzy puppy and are completely unprepared for the adult.

Gia's fans at GSROC want to be sure her next home is happy, loving, and forever, so they're looking for just the right person for her. Someone who knows the breed well and loves the German shepherd personality, because she's got a lot of it. If this is you, fill out the online application and an adoption counselor will be in touch.
