There Karli was, a cute little dog wandering the streets of Sacramento. Picked up as a stray. Unclaimed by anybody. But then along came Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary.
Happy Tails is a no-kill, cage-free sanctuary, which started out in 1993 as a haven for cats in the Sacramento area. At the physical sanctuary, the residents are cats. But, as things often turn out, other critters in need soon entered the picture, and now Happy Tails fosters offer a loving, secure place for dogs to recuperate from their troubles and get ready for a new, happy life, with new ones arriving often.
Since landing in her foster home, this year-old Chiweenie (Chihuahua-dachshund mix) has shown that she has perfect house-training habits and pretty much wants to soak up as much of the love (and, okay, treats) as you're passing out. If you haven't met before, give her a little time to check you out and you'll soon be great buds. Going out? She has excellent leash manners, and also magnificent ears to draw admiration wherever you go. Perfect, right? Get in touch and fill out an application to get things moving.
