Looking for a big dog? One who's up for whatever adventures you have in mind that day? Especially if they involve water? Meet Scooby Doo, an energetic, athletic young fellow currently residing at Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe, where his caretakers report that yes, he does love the lake. At 83 pounds, Scooby is 3 years old and pretty much enthusiastic about everything—which occasionally gets the better of him, so it's good for his human to remind him about things like structure from time to time. He's smart and eager to please his person, so there's a great relationship and lifetime of companionship in store for someone who'll take the time for him and find fun things to do.
Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe has been taking in critters like Scooby when they fall upon difficulties in life, and enlists support from fosters, volunteers, kind community members. Also, they offer a raft of services to help animal pals and their families stay together, from training classes to a pet pantry to make sure there's nutritious food for dogs (and cats) when times are tough.
Coming up September 14 is one of HSTT's big fundraising (and fun) events: the Balls in the Ruff tournament at the Tahoe Donner golf course. Gather your friends, hop in the cart, and head for the links—and make it possible for HSTT to keep helping dogs like Scooby!
