Pets Lifeline, Tailwags & Handbags Goes Virtual

From: Nancy King, Executive Director, Sign-up Here!

Pets Lifeline is the only animal shelter located in the Sonoma Valley, providing a refuge for pets and resources for people. May 1 would have been the annual Pets Lifeline springtime event known as Tailwags & Handbags, held annually at Buena Vista Winery. Last year’s Tailwags event raised nearly $100,000. In light of the ongoing shelter in place order, Tailwags & Handbags will become an online auction over five days starting on Wednesday, May 6 and ending on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10.

There is a wonderful collection of donated handbags that came in prior to the SIP orders so we decided to have the online auction for five days so everyone will be able to shop for handbags and various other items from the comfort of their home or garden.

As with so many people and nonprofits, the current lack of revenue is hitting Pets Lifeline hard. The shelter still has plenty of animals that need care, food and medical attention, every day. It is the beginning of kitten season (DogTrekker also loves pets of the feline persuasion) and the shelter is keen to raise the necessary funds to carry them through the upcoming spring and summer months.

For over 35 years, Pets Lifeline has been dedicated to protecting and improving the lives of cats and dogs in need in through sheltering and adoption, humane education and community programs.
